@chalet_tournesol by @valerie_von_sobel 🕊️ Bryant and I decided to get married at the Chalet for a few reasons. I was born in Switzerland, and being at my godmother Valerie’s home feels like being back in the Swiss Alps. The cowbell hanging on the chapel was a Christmas gift from us last year that she hung up, a small piece of our love carried into this moment. My Godmother Valerie built this chapel after losing her son as a way to honor him. I’ve often gone there to pray whenever I visit. She has been a great support in my life, a true mother figure especially after I lost my own. She is one of my soulmates, my mother through many lives, and she walked me down the aisle. Valerie lost her husband and her son. I’ve lost my mother and my brother. I hope that this chapel, and everyone who chooses to be married here, knows that even through loss and heartbreak, you can always find your way back to light and love again. Don’t give up.
