Leading up to @govkathyhochul’s State of the State Address this past week, City Harvest joined with more than 100 advocates to demand that all children across New York State have access to free breakfast and lunch at school—a critical investment that that would help feed hundreds of thousands of students across the state and save families $140 per child per month. Free school meals, along with boosts to programs like Nourish NY and the Hunger Prevention and Nutrition Assistance Program, would go a long way toward ending food insecurity in our state.
