“Why did you guys move to Charleston?” I get a lot. I grew up in California, and my husband grew up in Colorado, so coming to South Carolina to start our family, away from our friends and family, was a big jump to make. Here’s what we love about Charleston and the reasons why we moved here ❤️ • the beach! We’re beach people, and when we imagined raising a family, we imagined our little ones playing on the beach! Living in a beach town has been a dream of ours. • the weather! We love Charleston’s mild winters and warm springs and falls. And I even love the hot humid summers! • how family friendly it is - I cannot imagine a more family friendly city. We take our kids everywhere, and there are sooooo many young families. It’s so nice! • the food. Charleston has the best food scene in the US. Hands down. And it makes living here and going out to restaurants so much fun. • the people! The people here are, as you’d expect, HAPPY!!!!! Which makes it a happy place to live. • Every day here feels a little like you’re on vacation. After all, it is a tourist destination! But, even though you feel that vacation vibe here, make no mistake that we’re still a city of hustlers!!! It’s not cheap to live in Charleston, so I feel like most people that are able to live here are hustling and doing cool things. I feel like Charlestonians strike a perfect balance of working hard but always having fun and not taking life too seriously. It’s definitely not a sleepy town - it’s a growing, buzzing city, but still with a small town vibe.
