July 4th is marked as the day America celebrates its independence. But what we are, and have been facing, is our rights being stripped away, our children unsafe, and acts of violence fueled by hate continuing to rise. It’s infuriating, disappointing, and overwhelming. But as our superhero @lisalingstagram wrote in a post that we often refer back to when we feel dejected by everything: The world is ours to protect. We must vote, we must hold our leaders accountable, and we must stand up for and protect each other. The future of our democracy depends on us. It is time to show up and #BeYourOwnSuperhero.
