We finally made it! 🎉 This weekend saw the first performances in the new David Geffen Hall, a milestone that was only made possible through the tireless work of construction workers, design team, staff, and so many others. On Saturday, the Philharmonic and Music Director Jaap van Zweden gave the World Premiere of ”San Juan Hill: A New York Story“ by @etiennejazz, commissioned by @lincolncenter. The combined forces of the Philharmonic and jazz ensemble Creole Soul — plus spoken word, turntables, and video — painted an unforgettable picture of the rich cultural community of San Juan Hill and the people who lived there.
