“La casa de los espíritus” was an ephemeral concept store and art gallery hosted by Costaiia in Caracas, Venezuela. It was a one day happening that invited the public to experience a surreal atmosphere that combined the retail experience with the visual and performing arts. The project was born from a profound fascination with a house; La Quinta Morella. Curator Patricia Pietri and collaborator Catalina Quintana had long dreamt of bringing this building back to life through art and fashion. Uninhabited for over two decades, the house had become a lifeless object; a “non-home”, as Daniela Benaim articulates it in her fantastic series “La casa”. When does a house stop being a home?
