I captured this shot in central Oregon during my last snow camping trip about a month ago.
It was the first time I used my astro-modified camera, so you can imagine my excitement when I saw clear skies were forecasted. We packed up our gear, grabbed the pups and made the quick hike in to this location.
After some time, I noticed the clouds weren’t going anywhere, and were forecasted to get worse right as it was time to capture the Milky Way. Well, they weren’t wrong. I did however, manage to snag this shot right before the clouds totally enveloped the sky.
I seem to get stuck in this awful mindset that clouds are bad... I didn’t even bother to look at what I did capture that night until just a couple of days ago. 😅
While the Milky Way is mostly covered, I actually really love this sky. The combination of stars and clouds is so beautiful to me. It has to be one of my favorite skies I’ve captured so far.
If you’re interested in modifying your camera, be sure to check out @spencerscamera or shoot me a message with any questions! I’m always happy to help 🤍
