Happy Olympic & Paralympic Day! This was my first individual medal: 100 back gold in Athens. A moment I dreamt about since I was six years old and achieved at age 21. Coincidentally today is also the 50th anniversary of Title IX. Had it not been for Title IX I would have retired from swimming at age 17 and missed out on the opportunity to not only swim for my college, but swim for Team USA. Thank you to those trailblazers that gave me the opportunity to extend my athletic career well into my thirties and paved the way for countless athletes.
