Ireland’s best kept secret: 📍 Ballysaggartmore Towers, Co. Waterford The Towers were built in 1850 by Arthur Kiely-Ussher for his wife, the extravagant gates were the only part of the castle to be built as money ran out soon after their completion. 🚘 Take the R666 from Lismore in the direction of Ballyduff and Fermoy which is signposted at the bridge near Lismore Castle. Continue for approximately 3.5km to the Towers entrance on the right. There is ample parking at the entrance. 🥾 🌳 It’s is stunning 2km forest walk. It’s a short walk and it only takes about 40 minutes. However, it’s a magical place, and if you have children, they will love it, so you might want to take your time. Combined with the Towers, it’s reminiscent of a setting for a fairy tale.
