#AD | Before I came out to anyone in my personal life, I found a small community of trans masculine folks on @Instagram and began this account anonymously. My first several posts didn’t include any photos of my face, I was so afraid of people I knew finding out. In time, Instagram was the first place I asked for my correct pronouns and said the words, “I am a transgender man.” On Instagram, I found the confidence to claim my identity and share it with the world – and this was lifesaving. I have made so many of my best friends (so many trans brothers and siblings!) here, and over time, I’ve shifted from using Instagram to seek support to using it to give support to others. At a time when our communities and bodily autonomy is so deeply threatened, I am even more grateful to be able to share this space with you. I am endlessly amazed by and grateful for the power, strength, and connectedness of the trans community. We are one of the most resilient communities I know, and that is how we will get through this. #actsofpride #sharewithpride
