I am super grateful to have achieved this goal in completing my first official 5K. I told myself at the beginning of the year that I needed to compete in at least one during the summer since I began running back in December. I look back at when I first began, I couldn’t even run for half a mile before the asthma kicked in making it seem impossible to even run 1 mile. Fast forward to now, thanks to the support of friends, family, and maintaining a healthy running routine, these lungs are at their prime, gone are the days of those wheezing gasps of air.
