DYAFS and look at my cute grandparents!! You can never be too careful about how you allow others’ relationships affect yours. When I think about what I want my marriage to look like, it’s similar to the one I have witnessed all of my life—my grandparents. Now, I’ve spent A LOT of time with these two and it really warms my heart to know they’ve decided to grow gray together. (They don’t claim to be old, but young.) I’m not naïve to believe there isn’t conflict or that there hasn’t been moments of contemplating separation (that’s not my business), but I do admire how they come together after they have a disagreement. My family is pretty open in sharing. Sometimes, it’s TMI 😬. But every single time my grandfather calls me, most of the call is him professing his love for my grandmother. And every time I talk to my grandmother, she gives me sound, and REAL, advice regarding the longevity of a relationship. Be mindful of the influences you keep around. #notnewtothis #dyafs
