I’m proud to say and not many people know this... the Lee Stafford brand reinvented dry shampoo 17 years ago. The only people that knew anything about dry shampoo back then were grandparents who used it in the war when there was no shampoo or god forbid, water! 17 years ago there was only one dry shampoo on the market. It was on the bottom shelf of Boots, all dusty and smelling of dirty old socks. I was using this product, like a lot of session hairdressers at the time... to create matte, volumised hair. Well I had this curly haired friend who was staying with me who loved me to do their hair straight but of course, after a couple of days they would get greasy roots. So they needed to wash their hair... which meant they would go back to the natural curls, which they hated at the time. My friend found the dry shampoo I was playing around with and used it how it was conventionally designed. To take oil out of their hair and make it clean again and they got another couple of days out of their blow-dry. I was like “WOW! That is what this product is really for!” So in 2005 we launched @leestaffordhair DRy SHaMPOO, we gave it the beautiful Lee Stafford scent, with corn starch (not rice starch) which is a much better ingredient. We put the formulation into modern pink packaging and BOOM!
