When I was growing up here in Carbondale I couldn’t wait to get far far away from my old small town and live in a big city one day. Fast forward to today and I’m living the life I had always dreamt of for myself: A beautiful apartment in LA with my man and my dog, traveling the world and following my dreams every day, but while I am forever grateful for ALL of these things, I find myself more and more often craving the slowness and simplicity of my little home town; the place I once couldn’t get away from fast enough. While LA is the place I call home, HOME will always be in Southern Illinois, but most importantly, where my family is. This fast paced life of mine is exciting and absolutely thrilling and fulfilling, but while the highs are high, the lows are low and no place reminds me of what truly matters when I’m going through a low like being home with my family. I am incredibly grateful for every moment I have on this planet, but especially these moments that I remember to slow down with some of my most favorite people in the entire world. My heart is full and I am refreshed💛 (just missing my best buddy @jamesbaltz )
