You dim sum, you lose some 🥟 Stopped by @paletteteahouse for brunch at around 11am on a Sunday right before Fleet Week. There was no wait, but it was pretty busy. Tbh, I came here because the food looked really pretty, and it had 4/5 stars on @yelp, but was a little disappointed by the food. There are definitely better dim sum places in SF for cheaper, though probably not as unique with the flavors. Food we ordered: 1. Xiao Long Bao - 5 different colors for 5 different flavors (spinach with kale and pork, classic with pork, turmeric with crab roe and pork, beetroot with beef, squid ink with pork and black truffle) - super unique take on XLB and a must order if you’re going to come here! 2. Scallop Siu Mai - have never had siu mai with scallop before. Probably my favorite thing that we ordered! 3. Rainbow Prawns - this is basically colorful cheung fun. Nothing special. 4. Green Beans - came out soggy and luke warm. Not impressed. 5. Radish Cakes - a dim sum classic and favorite of mine. Tasted as expected! Would order again. Any recs on what dim sum places I should try the next time I’m in SF?
