HONEST OPINION:
If people started incorporating SPINE DAYS into their fitness regimen the same way they do leg days or back days, BACK PAIN would be drastically less common.
In 2020 back pain affected well over half a billion people globally (estimated in a study conducted by Lancet Rheumatology). Naturally, it’s one of the most common issues I treat in my private practice. And let me tell you, for some people it is DEBILITATING. Hence my passion for it. I truly believe chronic lower pack pain is reversible if you know how to work with it. There are many lifestyle factors at play, but I think the leading cause is sedentary lifestyle. The fact of the matter is, hardly any of our bodies are moving in ways in which they evolved. We used to walk for miles, squat down to the ground, reach up, etc. For most of us today, the only way our bodies will see these full range movements is if we carve out the time at the gym, in our yoga sessions, etc.
Back pain may not affect everyone, but incorporating these kinds of full range movements will stave off potential back pain in the future, and reverse your pain if you already have it.
