I wanted to show y’all another side by side of my straight out of the shower clumps versus the ones after I brush style. I can’t portray it enough how important this is for someone like me with extremely fine hair that loves to glue itself to the scalp. As you can see on the straight out of the shower curls - if I added stylers and dried the hair like this ... it would turn out exactly like this. The top would be flat and straight. Also while the clumps would be bunched together better, it leaves me with major gaps showing all over my head. This makes my hair show its true lower density and I end up with stringy limp curls. On the other hand - spending some time to brush my hair out and recreate smaller curl clumps all over my head, I’m left with a much fuller more dense appearing head of hair. I’m able to get the root area to curl and create a lot of movement. The techniques you use MATTER !! If you are unhappy with how things are going , try to switch something up.
