I arrived in Florence, Italy yesterday afternoon for @pittifragranze and news had broken out earlier that a new luxury collection of fragrances from @balenciaga was launched. So first thing I did was to find the Balenciaga store to discover this new collection. I was like a kid in a candy store! I spent about an hour learning, chatting, touching, feeling and drooling over this new collection. The bottles and presentation is quite gorgeous. Very retro looking but the fragrances didn’t smell retro, they weren’t classic interpretations of older fragrances. At least they weren’t to me. They smelled quite modern. After smelling the collection two or three times I just had to have a bottle of the Les Dix Parfum for historic reasons and also because I have a vintage bottle of the classic. From memory they didn’t smell alike. This new Les Dix Parfum is an Iris bomb, slightly sweet, slightly vegetal, slightly buttery, but powdery. Loved it. I did buy a second one and I ended up with Twenty Four Seven Parfum. It was more of an amber vanilla. Seemed not so syrupy heavy and cloying but a bit on the fresher side. Loved the smell. But the collection seemed quite good. And I only know I will pick up several others. These are refillable bottles so if you run out you will be able to fill it up with only buying a refill rather than replacing the bottle. But who’s curious about this new Balenciaga Fragrance Collection? Sadly no perfumer names have been published at least I can’t find any. And the store associates didn’t know. Price was 100ml €260. I do get 12% back for the taxes. But I can see these selling for $400 approximately in the states. They will be quite pricey. 😀
