the newest, nicest japanese restaurant in honolulu! ✨🇯🇵 i was a bit skeptical about @robatajinya opening in the old Nobu space in Ward because most chain restaurants that come to hawaii can’t live up to the unique culture and expectations we have here 🌺 (especially when it comes to japanese food!) but i was so pleasantly surprised with my experience here! 🤯💖 🌟 you’re instantly greeted by a booming “irasshaimase” by the whole staff, and the immaculate vibes of the restaurant set the scene for an experience! we got a tasting menu which consisted of: 🐠 kinmedai ($22): bright, citrusy golden eye snapper sashimi 🍋 🐮 A5 wagyu tartare tacos ($10): bursting with flavor and delicious even for someone who doesn’t like beef tartare 🐔🐙🌽 tsukune, octopus and corn robata-yaki: the octopus was plump, soft and hearty and was completely void of the unpleasant chew that most octopus has 🦐 garlic shrimp ($18): 4pcs of perfectly fried, plump shrimp in a garlic soy butter 🍣 the best of the night were the nigiri: the smoked toro ($18) is a show-stopper served tableside✨ with a 24k gold leaf & the perfect combination of the fatty toro and the briney uni which melts like ice cream on your tongue. 🍣 the Tai, Kauai Shrimp and Seared Scallop nigiri absolutely blew me away. i think i could write a whole novel alone on how each of these nigiri pieces played symphonies. 🎶 💘 the whole dinner was spectacular to say the least and i’m v excited for more people to try this new restaurant and their sister restaurants coming soon @jinyaramenbar @lbdhawaii #robatajinya #japanesefood #japaneserestaurants #japaneserestaurant #nigirisushi #sushitooth #japanesegourmet #hawaiireels #hawaiifoodfinds #yelphawaii #fiveftfoodie #frolichawaii #wardvillage #a5wagyu
