during the first months of quarantine, I had a ritual- make some oatmeal, pour some coffee, and sit in my patch of morning sun listening to RAM all the way through. it provided consistent, poetic and peaceful beginning to my day in a time that was very nebulous and nerve wracking. it definitely was not the first time (or the last) that Paul McCartney’s music (and Linda’s in RAM’s respect) will provide me a safe escape and inspirational refuge. this man is 80 today and what a gift it is to still have him, putting out records and touring –even now!
