If you don’t live on the edge, you’ll never see the view ! & Wow ! What an incredible view this is ! If you haven’t heard of Kelingking Beach on Nusa Penida, now’s your chance to learn a little bit more about it ! This beach is arguably one of the top destinations on the island but the viewpoint is probably one of the most famous things to do in Bali. The reason why Kelingking Beach is such a popular destination is because the cliffs form the shape of a T-Rex and of course the stunning blue hues of the incredible Indian Ocean. It’s located in the village of Bunga Mekar on the west coast of Nusa Penida. This island is the biggest of the 3 islands on the southern coast of Bali. From the Nusa harbor, it’ll take about an hour and a half to get up there. Once you’re on the island, you can rent a bike (Vespa or moped) or hire a private driver to take you up. We hired a private driver through @rajafaramsa so it was super convenient. A visit to the Kelingking beach and Viewpoint are subject to an entrance fee of 10,000 IDR per person, and 5,000 IDR for parking (both under $1 USD) I recommend getting here early because it gets packed QUICK! We got up here around 9:30am and it was empty, 30 minutes later, there was a queue. To access the beach down below, there are steps with railings made out of Bamboo that will guide you all the way down to the beach. If you do go down, just be very careful because the steps aren’t really maintained ; it’s kind of like “go down at your own risk”. It’ll take about an hour to get down and the same to come back up, maybe a bit longer because it’s a HIKE ! They also have a few restaurants & shops for you to buy snacks or even a beer 🍻 Also, bring some sunscreen when you get up there unless you’re trying to get as dark as I did 😎 I’ll give you more details on how to get to the island on a separate post so stay tuned for that!
