This was the hardest and most meaningful fine art collection of my career to produce so here’s my brand new Storms Collection: https://www.jeremyjanusphotography.com/storms-collection Back in 2019 when I first started chasing storms, I had absolutely zero clue what I was doing and I had only started photography in 2016. Just like with my art and photography, I never took a class and had to teach myself how to chase cells and capture their beauty in an extremely abbreviated timeline. I spent the past few weeks compiling over 50 of my storms shots from the past 4 years. Shooting lightning has been the hardest technical shooting I have ever done and it only lasts for a few months each year so needing to expand your skills and knowledge over such a short time each year is very challenging. The editing process is a bear as well due to the amount of hot pixels that develop in the photo due to night shooting. To say this is my life’s work sounds a little extreme after only 4 years, but I can say after all the adventures, shots, and artistic development I’ve done over my lifetime it sure feels that way. I have shared my battles in the darkness with depression and anxiety and thus this has been an extremely spiritual process of capturing and sharing light in the darkness, in which I have also been becoming for others over the years as well. I have so many more photos to add to this collection but the editing, naming, descriptions, SKU assignment, and website development for these has been a lot more work than I imagined. My dream is to make a book on my storms collection which I will down the road and I cannot wait to bring it to life.
