And just like that, tour is over. Still working through my thoughts on the whole ordeal, but in the meantime a couple notes of gratitude: Thank you @maitamusic for playing these last shows with us. Your music is magic and sky’s your limit. Thank you @outerspaceyoga for being by and away the best merch manager a band could ask for. For always connecting with our fans at the merch table and for your incurable positivity on the road. Thanks to @eeebypristine and @freddiemercury_poisoning for making sounding so good look so easy. Thank you @palmsundaytunes and Mary Steele for looking after lil Henry so that after a long day of parenting Shan and Dave could perform every night. Thank you so, so much to our fans. The intensity of your support was palpable during every single show. I don’t know how we got so lucky but it’s truly an honor to make music for you. Finally, thanks to my bandmates. I love you all with a deep, familial kind of love: containing and transcending minor annoyances, quirks, real disagreements, times-we-are-not-our-best-selves, etc. In perpetually close quarters together you challenge me to be a better friend and a fuller human person. Maybe I’m getting sentimental in my old age, but throughout the tour it kept hitting me just what immensely talented and decent people you all are. And only in those moments did it occur to me that maybe, just maybe, I am as good as the company I keep. xo k
