For everyone with the sniffles out there, these homemade ginger shots are *hard core* but I swear it gets the job done. It hurts so good!! The secret ingredient here is the oil of oregano — a plant-based essential oil that has antioxidant, antibacterial, anti fungal, and antiviral properties, and is helpful in managing cold and flu symptoms. These shots also probably costs about $1 a pop, whereas those store bought wellness shots are often full of sugar and range from $3-6. Recipe below 👇 ——— Hard Core Ginger Oregano Shots Serving size: 2 tablespoons Ingredients: 1.5-2 cups chopped ginger (you can leave the skin on) 4 drops oil of oregano A tiny pinch of cayenne Juice of 1 lemon 1/2 cup filtered water Directions: 1. Add all ingredients to a high speed blender and blend until the ginger is pulverized. If you need more water to get it going, add in 2 tablespoons at a time. 2. Strain through a fine mesh sieve (you could use cheese cloth or a nut milk bag for this, but I couldn’t find mine). 3. Allow the mixture to sit in the strainer for about 10 minutes, then press out the remaining liquids. 4. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. ** If this is just too much, add a little honey or a squeeze of fresh orange juice. You can also add to hot water for tea or sparkling water if you son’t want to take it down a notch. #coldseason #coldremedy #immunesupport #nutrition #gingershot #nutrition #ginger #fluseason
