We started a collaboration with Stòffa last year and continued through an ongoing study of materials and shapes with the aim of creating something truly authentic. The results is Stòffa Ceramics, designed and crafted in collaboration with Ceramica Artistica Solimene of Vietri. Vietri sul Mare is a small town in the province of Salerno that is known for its distinctive hand-painted ceramics. Solimene is a third-generation family of artisans. They are housed in an historic building designed in collaboration with esteemed architect Paolo Soleri in 1951. Each floor of the building echoes the stages of Solimene's ceramic process. As you move through the building, you can see each piece begin as clay and end as a fully-formed object. We have been there to document the process of this kind of poetic tradition.
