Read about the photographs below. . "These are photographs of flowers I planted and grew in the garden that encircled the house where I raised my family," the artist tells us. . "I made this flower series in the spring of 2017 as I was preparing to leave a home and a place that I loved completely. All these flowers were there, growing and blooming, because I had planted them; and each spring as they grew again and bloomed again they brought with them a renewed sense of joy. Though I knew, that particular spring, that it was the last time I’d ever see these flowers come into bloom. . "I wanted to try to pin down something that reminded me of their delicate individual beauties; and to witness and document the fragile imperfections of these loyally perennial homegrown semi-wilded flowers: carriers of deeper meanings and emotions than their store-bought, organised, and perfect relations. The project became a very visceral emblem of farewell. A eulogy to a place, nature, colours, texture, that I loved."
