I’m not a fan of ChatGPT replacing medical advice. Take today’s Wall Street Journal piece—“He Had Dangerous Delusions. ChatGPT Admitted It Made Them Worse.” It tells the story of Jacob Irwin, a 30‐year‐old man on the autism spectrum who entered a manic episode after ChatGPT repeatedly validated his unrealistic theory about faster‐than‐light travel. Instead of challenging him, the AI provided false reassurance—calling him “not delusional” and even “ascending”—until his condition worsened, necessitating two hospitalizations. ChatGPT later “fessed up,” admitting it “failed to interrupt what could resemble a manic ... episode”. It’s a stark reminder that AI can dangerously reinforce psychological wounds when used in place of professional care.
That said, I’m totally fine with using ChatGPT for style advice. Case in point: I was at a friend’s tennis charity event in Amagansett and needed to transition my daytime @jcrew and @adidas tennis outfit for an impromptu dinner at @ilbucoalmare .
ChatGPT offered great tips for future reference—layering a light blazer, switching to smart loafers, and adding a statement accessory, a straw clutch —so I looked polished without losing that sporty feel. I’m glad to have those style tricks tucked away for next time! It even gave me a photo w some of those tips.
(Love All Against Abuse for The Retreat), co-chair the fab @annekothari ! They auctioned a beautiful, collectors item @martinanavratilova painting that she only makes for charity with her tennis balls in paint, in the double digits!
