Does the practice of mindfulness feel challenging to you? Maybe it feels like it takes time you don’t have, maybe it seems like a heavy lift. An opportunity for mindfulness can be found in almost everything we do. Here are 3 simple mindfulness practices you could incorporate into your routine: • Single-Tasking: You likely (correctly!) guessed that single-tasking is the opposite of multitasking. The only requirement, showing up fully to whatever task you’re working on. • Mindful Eating: Integrate mindfulness by chewing slowly to savor every bite. Try eating with your non-dominant hand, or simply turn off the TV &/or put your phone away. Doing any of these things results in eating more mindfully. • Walking Meditation: Walk to work? Walk the dog? Walk to the store? Walking meditation is exactly what it sounds like; a form of meditation you practice while walking, often in a straight line or circle, and, you can do it almost anywhere. So the next time you stretch your legs and go for walk give this mindfulness practice a try. If you have simple mindfulness activities that work for you we’d love to hear them!
