22.09.2022 // OPENHAUS SEPTEMBER 2022 // CARMEL KEREN GUrL (Gendered Urban Landscapes) // GUrL seeks to address the inequity in urban public spaces by empowering teenage girls and young people of marginalised gender identities to explore, as collaborators, how they can confidently occupy city spaces through spatial design and performance. This OPENHAUS shows the culmination of Carmel’s 6-month research process, with a focus on her on-going collaboration with a group of teenage girls from the youth club Dünja (@mädchenkulturtreff_duenja) in Moabit. This will include previews of a film created together and recordings of a recent performative walk through the neighbourhood that explore themes of activism, identity and belonging.
