I was recently able to sit on an Eczema Equality Panel in partnership with @AveenoBaby. Here’s a sneak into some of my portions. #ad #aveenobaby #eczemaequality The panel brought together professionals and mothers as we talked about eczema care especially for children of color. Historically, diverse skin tones have not been represented in medical literature. Many times eczema goes undiagnosed in children of color because it may appear differently than what is seen online or in textbooks on lighter skin tones. The Eczema Equality Panel discussed how families can advocate for their babies, what needs to change in the medical system to promote racial diversity in skincare, why eczema happens, and tips and tricks to managing eczema. PedsDocTalk has given me the opportunity to work with amazing brands not only on education initiatives, but advocacy initiatives as well. Thank you @aveenobaby.
