As the former President of the Go Hard Association of America, I use to run miles and miles a day, lift as heavy as I could, eat to fulfill temporary satisfaction, and get really confused why I wasn’t seeing results. So here’s 3 of many reasons I wasn’t seeing the fruit of my labor, and it may be why you aren’t either. Part 2 will have my suggestions! 💪🏽 I ignored the power of the kitchen: I would work out super hard and then either eat out, eat unhealthy, or not eat enough. Even the healthiest looking foods from restaurants have secret calorie/fat adders…especially from oils! Not eating enough also isn’t the way. The body stores fat if it doesn’t think it will be properly fed. And we know eating crazy just sets us back more than one workout! Some say it’s 70% kitchen 30% gym. Sure. For temporary results. For longevity? 100% of each. 💪🏽💪🏽 I got plans from Mr. Google: There are so many moments that I wish I told myself to not look at the Internet for work out and eating plans. The #1 reason is because none of those plans were made for me. No one that wrote the articles or suggested the regimens knew what my body needed. I found that it was just a way to feel like I was being productive and doing some thing “right.” Lasting change requires specificity, consistency and, especially in the beginning, guidance. 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽 I gave into what was right in front of me: Whether that was eating poor food choices, hanging out all night and not getting proper sleep, or skipping workouts to do other unproductive things. Giving into temporary satisfaction does not only hurt your fitness goals, but your overall quality of life. What you do in one area of your life, you tend to do in others. So it’s good to use fitness as a way to become more disciplined and consistent. Part ✌🏽 coming soon #FitFridayz #GymRat #FitnessJunkie#Teamloud #ShawnsCoutureCuties
