Mission ‘nuraghe’ today... New to nuraghe 🤣🙈 here is the run down.
Nuraghe (means ‘mount of stones’) and they’re basically little buildings or villages made out of stones and there are quite a few of them around Sardinia. Built and occupied from the 14th to 9th century B.C.... Yes B.C.!!! Making them up to 4,000 years old. I admit I find that quite difficult to comprehend. The one we visited today is called Nuraghe la Prisgiona and comprises of one main tower, two smaller towers and then smaller little huts that are all connected a little like honeycomb and were used to either store food, house artisans to create products like bread and ceramics, or simply meet up.
(And no I don’t intend on starting a career as a travel/archaeology blogger any time soon - we are all safe in that department!)
