TLDR: My college journey was all over the place and it’s non-linear, such is life. F*ck achieving things before your 30 , I am NAO GRADUATED and in my A Bay Bay era 😌✨ (pt 2) So I took all of my grievances to Reddit and had ppl critique my portfolio and say “why don’t you get a graphic design degree and if your committed to animation, you’ll make a portfolio on the side? it’s much cheaper that way” I did my research and found out that @psugd is ranked in the top 3% of graphic design programs nationwide. And that was pretty much under my nose. So I switched back and cried when I found out that I had to start over again by adding another 3.5 years. But even having the pandemic hit 6 mos in, being in the PSUGD program was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. It was the most communal experience that I’ve ever had and being surrounded by so many talented peers pushed and inspired me. There are so many visual languages and histories that I’ve deep-dived into that I wouldn’t have known if it weren’t for my amazing professors. I found my voice as an illustrator. BUT my peers have literally provided a domino effect for me. Sometimes I'll be like, what would life have been like If never asked @jules_cordova "Do you know anyone whos doing internships?" Then they introduced me to Fran then came along Salomee, Anna, Tifanny, Miles, Megan/Jubal/Chris, Jonny, Karina and soooo many more. PSUGD whether it realizes it or not is part of why I have 10 murals in PDX, commissioned by Nike as an illustrator 4 times, and being signed to an agency as a model to Q6. And instead of 3.5yrs it was 2. *WHEW* Things are shifting for me as a creative, tbh I still feel lost sometimes and want to do everything and be everything but I’m trying to take things easy. I will actually apply for a design position...soon lol. Per my oldest sister’s wishes. Okay, thanks if you made it all the way here.
