And to Juan Pablo, thank you for teaching us new ways of seeing, feeling and living this world. 🌻 We miss you so much. #juanpabloecheverri #missfotojapan From the press release: Miss fotojapón is a long-term project that the artist Juan Pablo Echeverri (Bogotá, 1978-2022) began more than two decades ago and brings together nearly 8,000 photographs in passport format in which the artist has portrayed himself daily and without interruptions. The title of the project pays homage to a chain of photographic studios in several cities in Colombia. It was in these establishments that Echeverri went to be photographed, documenting various choices of clothing, accessories and hairstyles influenced by the pop culture of the 1980s and 1990s, especially the rock bands that were present in his formation. During these 22 years of production of miss fotojapón, the artist has given continuity and constancy to his project even during trips and artistic residences in different cities of the world, using other photographic booths and studios and thus giving the project a richness and visual depth.
