22.09.2022 // OPENHAUS SEPTEMBER 2022 // VA-BENE ELIKEM FIATSI crazinisT artisT Unfamiliar spirits in Familiar spaces // The audience are invited to interact and perform with the video installations and objects in the space that suggest alternative curatorial possibilities of the 'moving public' as intimate spaces. This is an ongoing curatorial research to investigate and curate processes, interactivity and public performances in relation to the social life of people as well as the indigenous and older traditions that might have contributed to contemporary life-and-live-art This research seeks to explore ‘Unfamiliar spirits’ through the lenses of traditional energies, rituals and methods employed by various artists as an integral part of their processes and presentations in performances that the audience may or may not be familiar with. It aims at investigating the intersectionality of African or Non-European traditions and postcolonial influences on performance art in Berlin as a multicultural city. However, the project is till in an infant stage getting familiar with Berliners, Berlin 'public dramas', the public politics and policies etc Va-Bene Elikem Fiatsi is interested to continue this research project with artist collectives, activists, individuals, organizations or non-artist groups who may be interested in similar conversations, public spaces and the processes.
