Tis' the season...for viruses galore.
Edit: second to last slide myth should read: “Feed a cold. Starve a fever.” It’s still a myth either way

Pediatricians see illnesses in children peak from October through April. Having a sick child is not fun for anyone. Whether your child is six months old, three years old, or ten years old; the worrying never stops!
Scroll ➡️ through to read some of the common illness myths I've heard as a Pediatrician.
Here are a few takeaways:
➡️ Going outside without a jacket will only make you cold, not sick.
➡️ Green mucus can mean many things.
➡️ Milk during a cold could be your child's only source of hydration, so let them drink it. It will not add or worsen their cold.
➡️ Antibiotics aren't always the solution to curing a cough or an ear infection. Many are viral so discuss with clinician when a prescription is truly needed.
➡️ If you're ever in doubt about how your child is acting or feeling, contact your clinician.
➡️ If your child has a fever and is happy and playful, you can monitor them. If your child has a fever and is irritable or cranky, you can manage it and/or medicate it.
