A new race record has been set! @thomasruyant, skipper of LinkedOut, has won the IMOCA class in the 12th @route_du_rhum - Destination Guadeloupe, crossing the finish line off Pointe-à-Pitre at 06:51:25hrs UTC this morning. Equipped with a North Sails #EngineAboveDeck, his elapsed time of 11d 17h 36m 25s bests the course record for the class set in 2012 by Francois Gabart by an impressive 11hrs 02min 30secs. Ruyant adds the prestigious solo Route du Rhum victory to his two-handed @transatjacquesvabre race win achieved a year ago racing from Le Havre to Martinique. Additionally, this is his second Route du Rhum success after winning in the Class40 back in 2010. A close second place in the most extensive and competitive @imocaglobeseries fleet ever assembled for a Route du Rhum, was @charliedalin, skipper of @apiviavoile. This accomplishment follows his wins in the three big solo events this season, the @guyaderbermudes1000race, the @vendeearctique, and the @defiazimut. Jérémie Beyou, skipper of @charalsailingteam secured the 3rd spot in the IMOCA category and @kevinescoffier (@teamholcimprb) was fourth to cross the finish line, fully kitted out with @northsails_collection Performance gear.
