22.09.2022 // OPENHAUS SEPTEMBER 2022 // ALIBETA The Pinguin Bar - African Resilience and Presence // This performative installation recreates the ambiance of the Pinguin Bar, an African descent bar, meeting point for the Black resilient community in Berlin, a place of resistance in 1949, after the war and the Shoah. A story of jazz as a music of traces and healing. Revisiting this story today, with another generation of African artists, activists and researchers is a way to talk about decoloniality and to address the issue of African memory and changes in German society .
