Healthcare in #Brampton is on life support. In 2019, City Council declared a health emergency in Brampton. The lack of funding for our hospitals led to a hallway healthcare crisis. There are not enough beds to serve the sick, and they were left in the hospital hallways. When Patrick Brown became mayor in 2018, he froze property taxes in Brampton. Healthcare is a provincial issue, and the #Ontario government have promised $1 billion to turn Peel Memorial into a full hospital. But in order for the new hospital to be built, Brampton must pay $125 million dollars for it’s share with the province. Patrick Brown had to raise property taxes 1% in March. He has played games with the lives of our residents. Patrick Brown froze property taxes and choked city funding for our healthcare while people died in hallways in our hospitals. He bragged about not raising property taxes when he was running for Conservative leader. Everything is a political game for him. He plays politics with our communities, our safety, and now with our lives. We need a mayor that will fight for the long-term healthcare funding Brampton deserves. There is only one cure for the cancer at City Hall. On October 24th, elect me, Bob Dosanjh Singh as your next mayor of Brampton, and together, we will get Brampton working again.
