Let's squash that guilt when you feel like you're not spending enough time with your child or not doing enough for your child.
Parenting is about being mindfully present for the moments we DO have with our children.
I rather have a stressed mom put on 15 minutes of screen-time for her toddler if it means she can get a moment of peace so that she can mindfully be present with her child AFTER that break than a mom who is so overwhelmed and is half-present with her child in a cycle of overwhelm.
When I talk to overwhelmed parents, I ask how we can carve out moments of peace so they can rest their minds and be more present for their children.
Sometimes this means maximizing independent playtime, utilizing screen time, sitting in your car for 5 minutes before going into your home, or utilizing the help of others to take care of your child.
It all depends on the person's resources, time, and individual desires.
As parents, we have become SO CONSUMED with the unrealistic expectation of constantly being with our children, engaging with them, and creating elaborate activities for them; but that doesn't need to be the case.

Last week, I welcomed @busytoddler onto The PedsDocTalk Podcast to discuss the misconceptions parents have about playtime and development and it was an amazing conversation.
She is one of my Instagram inspirations and has a heart of gold.
Did you tune in yet? (available wherever you listen to podcasts).
PLEASE remember.
You are enough.
You are DOING enough.
This parenting journey is all about balancing your resources and time and finding even the little moments for yourself; so that you can be fully mentally there for your child with the moments you do have with them.
Drop a heart ❤️ and share if you needed to hear this today.
