You don’t take a picture to remember the experience, the picture IS the experience. & without a doubt, the view. This is probably one the most instagram-worthy treehouses in the world & here’s how you can visit ! The Ruman Pohon Tree House is located up on a cliff on the southeastern coast of Nusa Penida and is one of the most sought out destinations in Indonesia. Once you get there, the parking attendants will usher you in and will guide you to the check in counter where you can choose the activity you want to do if you’re there to visit. The cost to visit the tree house is 75K [about $5 USD] which is super affordable considering how much of a tourist trap this has become. They’ll give you a number and that’ll be your position in queue. They have a restaurant just before the trail starts where you can get food & drinks and you’ll also see some photo viewpoints like hearts made of of sticks, hammocks & tables overlooking the ocean. The attendant will typically let you know how long the queue is, so stock up because you can’t buy much besides some water and a few other things when you get to the bottom. I’m not sure how many stairs there are exactly to get down, but there’s a lot ! & they’re not easy either ! They are steep and uneven, so hold on to that rope and just enjoy the view on the way down. Once you’re there, there’s a small “waiting area” where you just kind of hang out until they call your number. They move pretty quickly giving each ticket holder (single or group) 3 minutes to take pictures. While you wait, they do have a cliff up above where you can go an explore with more incredible view points and a shrine. We waited for exactly and hour so it wasn’t too bad. Overall, a tremendous experience and something I highly recommend you add to your bucket list if you’re planning on visiting Bali.
