Today, the world has gathered to pay respects to Her Majesty The Queen Elizabeth II, who passed away on Thursday 8 September, 2022. She will be remembered for her compassion, dignity and leadership. Many members and friends of The Prince’s Foundation will retain fond memories of Her Majesty’s role in the revitalisation of Dumfries House estate, our charity’s headquarters. During a visit to Ayrshire in July 2014, she officially opened The Queen Elizabeth II Walled Garden alongside The Prince's Foundation's president His Majesty The King Charles, recognising in her speech the monumental effort by charity staff and the army of local volunteers involved in the restoration of the five-acre area. Her name will live on worldwide, including in that corner of Dumfries House estate that bears her name. May she rest in peace.
