🌍✨ Happy International Dance Day! ✨🌍 Did you know that in the original cast of *Take the Lead*, the producers had an actress who couldn’t dance? I actually didn’t get the role initially! But then the lead choreographer reached out and asked, “Why didn’t you audition?” I was like, “Of course, I did!” I ended up re-auditioning for the role of Morgan, and they replaced the original actress with me! Fun fact: when we filmed this scene, I was running a 39-degree fever! 😷 The pressure to dance and lead a Hollywood star was unreal, and we had to nail it in just half a day. This movie premiered on April 27, 2006, when I was only 23. Interestingly, I had retired from dancing at 19, swearing I’d never dance again. But dance found a way to save me during some of the toughest times in my life. This film opened so many doors for me, leading to @StrictlyComeDancing, choreographing for @SYTYCD, and working on numerous films and TV projects. Dance made me strong, and it tought me to do things even when I don’t feel like it, when it’s hard, when I’m sick because I committed to something. Thank you, dance, for always being there for me!
