Member Spotlight: Adam Havrilla, AIFD, ICPF, PFCI, of Artistic Blooms LLC in Chicago, Illinois!
Adam Havrilla’s career started by working in a flower shop, where he quickly realized that he was destined to be a floral designer. After several years of honing his skills and working under top designers, Adam decided to open his own design studio and create a place where he was in control. Adam loves the endless possibilities of floral design and the power of flowers to change how someone is feeling. He loves that every day is a new opportunity to share his passion with clients.
In 2018 Adam created a rape survivor runaway show for the South Dakota Florist Association, which showcased the power of using floral artistry and beautiful thought-provoking designs to raise awareness for dark topics. That show, along with the desire to make a difference within his community during the pandemic, inspired Adam to start his “Be The Color” organization, which is the biggest passion project of his life. Be The Color started is an immersive art show which uses floral installations and combinations of darkness, light and color to highlight issues such as child abuse, women’s rights, self-respect, media and community in an unprecedented fashion.
They will be announcing their 2023 lineup of events very soon!
His favorite:
-Thing about being an SAF member: The helpfulness of SAF’s volunteer leaders, members and staff. Adam feels as though there is a sense of family who support each other in every way possible.
-Floral trend: Having floral in your home, regardless if it’s one bloom or a large floral display, and knowing it will bring joy to the person.
-Way to unwind: Traveling to new locations and exploring their communities.
