We’re going to show you around the primary bathroom at #bedstuybrownie on this cold Sunday morning. It has historical charm with all the modern features to make it a stunning & relaxing space. The most striking feature in the room has to be the double black arches in Tadelakt plaster. Tadelakt is an ancient waterproof plastering technique from Morocco. It was used in baths for centuries and you can actually build an entire shower with it. We used it to cover the arches and the shower bench. Through the smaller arch you’ll find the toilet area. It’s separated from the rest of the room and feels cozy and private. The epic shower through the larger arch has a rain shower from @wtrwrks and it’s very own tiny window (that we discovered during demo) to let even more light in than the 3 other huge frosted glass windows in the room. Next up is the custom vanity. We used what might be a familiar @kohler double utility sink built into gorgeous vanity made with reclaimed wood by @thebuildwithethan. It adds to the vintage touches throughout the room. The original marble fireplace opposite the Tadelakt arches is a beautiful original architectural moment in the space that we really love. It’s not a working fireplace but offers a great view from the huge black @signaturehw copper tub. Last but not least, don’t forget to look down to see the egrets in flight on this bathroom. @grandatile has this great tile designed by @justinablakeney with egrets in flight. We didn’t want to cover the entire floor with it so we paired it with the solid back tile. The egrets are scattered randomly but grouped together in the same direction.
