Friday night was a surreal experience for my family and I. I wanna express my deepest gratitude to Rob and Sophie Machado. If it’d been up to me to organize this event, we’d have probably wound up projecting the film onto a bedsheet in a Ralph’s parking lot. Instead the Machado’s made it a beautiful and personal evening starting at their family owned and run store @shopsaltculture and then onto the historic @lapalomatheatre just down the street. Gathering together and sharing the stoke of surfing is more important than ever and events like this don’t happen unless someone commits the time and effort to bring it to life. I also wanna thank my gifted friend @jonswiftmusic and @jessebergometer for coming all the way down from Ojai to play for us. Jon’s music has had a large impact on my life and getting to hear them play live was an unforgettable experience. Thank you to Chris Grow @shredshow for your guidance, commitment, and stoke for our humble project. Lastly I’d like to thank everyone who attended the event. You filled the theatre with the warmth and light that surfers have and made it an evening we’ll never forget.🤙🏽 Lastly, a little side note about the video in frame 2. While on stage, I looked down and found my son Lucca shirtless, waiting patiently with his hand in the air. His question for Rob was the highlight of my night.
