*clears throat* i was told to wear a “professional” outfit. why else would i wear a blazer in 106 degree weather? 😂
there is a lot of discussion in work spaces of what being “put together” looks like; and its nice to see those standards change and work appropriate attire being subjective to the setting (e.g. wearing a suit when you’re a tattooer doesn’t compute). ten years ago, if i had as many tattoos and my facial piercings, i would’ve felt out of place. now body modification is respected as an art form, as it should be, so it makes room for people to be judged for what matters such as what skills they bring to the table.
i chose this outfit because a) i look like myself and b) it made it easier for me to show up in my interview with confidence. and thankfully, i didn’t have to run out and buy something to make this happen. it was all in my closet! plus, with exception to these everlane pants i purchased new in 2019 and my socks, this entire look is secondhand.
based on looks i’ve shown here: how do you think i did? is this pro-fess-chanel?
