The Artist Process - Lets talk about it 🎨✨ Creatives have such a beautiful dharma. We see sticks, white canvas, material, beads, wire & can obscurely envision what shall come: with time, skill, & patience. Each of us are gifted with our own paths & it’s vital we remember our talents are unique, solely because of our stories. The more we lean into our TRUE essence, culture, journey the deeper and more authentic we can express without convolution or distraction of other artists. I’m a Jamaican British American who had her first art class with a Chinese teacher at 8 years old... Didn’t continue painting until College when I moved to France to study Art in the mountains. Kept creating when I moved to Thailand’s forests for 10 years, went home to Jamaica to reconnect with my people, and recently curated & sold my whole first collection in Germany. Thats over 20 years of learning & unlearning. Gift yourself the journey. All of these bends in the road, new techniques, colours & stroke styles are a culmination of what Jahs world showed & when I connect with who I am. No matter where I craft. A message to my craftmen community: Create. start over. take breaks. make art around other creatives. go outside. make a romantic sactuary you don’t leave for weeks so you in indulge in your process.
