Ever since I became aware of the news regarding the tragic and devastating murder of George Floyd, I have been reflecting on ways in which I can use my voice to participate In this fight for justice. It is very unfortunate that it took an event like this for us to take action. I have refrained from speaking out on social media in the past because of my inclination to have conversations in person, but I want to take this opportunity to start sharing some of the speeches, podcasts, books, etc.. that I have found to be the most informative. That being said, this cannot just become another social media trend, it must become a turning point. Growing up in a predominantly white community, I recognize that I have a lot of learning to do and I am ready to listen, to empathize, and to share what I am waking up to. And I am also ready to take action. Please do not hesitate to share some of the resources that have inspired you the most.
