The Wild Wisdom Companion (originally called the Wild Wisdom Almanac because it's my take on the wheel of the year) begins with Late Autumn in the Northern Hemisphere. While having the year starting in Late Autumn is antithetical to the modern mind, to the ancient farmer it was clear that the year ended when the final crops were harvested. After the hard work of Early Autumn, it was a time to rest, regroup, and begin again.
